Inauguration Dress: B5706

Doesn't she look great? I made this dress for a lady who's son-in-law was being sworn in as County Commissioner. She wore it to the inauguration.

Pattern Description:
Semi-fitted, lined dress (fitted through bust) has neckline variations and back zipper. Unlined, below elbow length sleeves.

Pattern Sizing:
8-24

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Sort of. I brought the front neckline up, and add a v-neck to the back. I also added an exposed zipper down the entire length of the back.

Were the instructions easy to follow?
I didn't use them.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Easy to adapt, simple design

Fabric Used:
All polyester...lace, crepe, lining
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I made many fitting changes to get it just right (shortened the waist, FBA, made the bust dart larger, narrowed the shoulders, widened the back darts, etc.). As I explained above, I also brought the front neckline up and dropped the back neckline into a V, leading into a fell length exposed zipper down the back. Instead of sewing the lace and lining separately, I underlined the lace with the crepe, sewing them together as one. I then added the lining.

Conclusion:
The dress turned out classy and perfect for the occasion.
